Acest turn a aparținut fostei biserici Sf. Nicolae și este unul dintre cele mai vechi monumente ortodoxe din Lugoj, fiind construit în stil baroc. Această biserică a fost construită între secolele XIV-XV, pe locul unei foste biserici de lemn. În 1726, aceasta a fost reconstruită de localnici cu sprijinul lui Ioan Raț. Odată cu aceasta restaurare este construit și acest turn pe latura de vest, avand un fundament din caramida, și arhitectura barocă la capiteluri.
This tower belonged to the old church, St Nicholas, and it is one of the oldest orthodox monuments from Lugoj built in the baroque style this church was built between the 14th and 15th century, on the ground of an old wooden church. in 1726, this was reconstructed but the locals with the support of Ioan Raț. Along with this restauration a tower on the western side was built, having a brick foundation, and baroque architecture.
